Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of this thesis; Using 2023 data of a factory operating in the cement sector, Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon footprint amounts were calculated and the emission value in tCO2 was found. During the calculations, CO2, N2O and CH4 emission gases were taken into consideration. As a result of the calculations, it was calculated that 1,207,582 tons of CO2 was formed for Scope 1, 80,123 tons of CO2 for Scope 2, and 138,042.87 tons of CO2 for Scope 3, for a total of 1,425,748 tons of CO2. In this regard, it was determined that the carbon footprint emission belonged to Scope 1 with a rate of 84.70%, Scope 2 with a rate of 9.68% and Scope 3 with a rate of 5.62%. 4 different scenarios have been created within the scope of reducing Scope 1 emission amounts. In Scenario 1; 17,927 tons of CO2 emissions decreased, In Scenario 2; 204,622.92 tons of CO2 emissions decreased, In Scenario 3; In scenario 4, 33,778.68 tons of CO2 emissions are reduced and; It was calculated that 56,296.87 tons of CO2 emissions were reduced. Within the scope of reducing the amount of Scope 2 emissions; A scenario has been created to meet electricity needs from solar energy, which is a renewable energy source. According to the scenario; It has been calculated that 760 t CO2 emissions can be reduced with the use of solar panels. To reduce the amount of Scope 3 emissions; It is envisaged that Scope 3 emission amounts may decrease by taking more environmentally friendly and sustainable measures, especially logistics activities.
