Abstract (EN)

Furnace brazing is one of the most common used methods in joining of parts and its application in industry is spreading rapidly because of its advantages like joining dissimilar parts, high production speed, etc. To apply this method correctly and use its advantages in joining of parts it is necessary to gather information about process and being able to use its characteristics in practice.Defining parameters and gathering information about them are the first steps in joining of parts by furnace brazing. In addition, optimization is required to improve brazing quality and decrease process costs to achieve required properties. Furnace brazing has a wide application area in joining of carbon steels. In this research, carbon steel parts are joined by using copper based brazing paste in a reducing atmosphere. Different parts are joined in different brazing parameters and after defining tensile strength and hardness of each joint, brazing parameters have been optimized experimentally. Among different parameters in furnace brazing, this research is focused on effects of brazing temperature, brazing time and brazing gap because of their strong effect on the quality of brazed parts.
