Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of this study, the mechanical properties and electrical resistance of carbon fiber composites with different densities and mesh types were examined by adding silver as a second reinforcement. Plain weave type 2, 4, 6 and 8 layers 200 g/m2 and twill 2, 4, 6 and 8 layers 245 g/m2 are produced by vacuum infusion method by placing epoxy and non-added silver for each layer, respectively, by weight according to the epoxy used, in addition to carbon fibers, 2% and 4% silver, respectively. The combustion experiment on the manufactured composites was carried out according to ASTM D2584, ASTM D257-14 and ASTM D790 standards, respectively, to examine their electrical resistance and mechanical properties. As a result of the experiments, the data obtained from the combustion experiment, electrical resistance and tensile experiment of non-added and silver-reinforced composites were examined. It was found that the data obtained from twill type weaving came out higher. After the broken surfaces obtained after the tensile experiment were coated in a silver palladium device, they were examined with a field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and evaluations were made about the image and numerical data obtained.
