The relationship of career decision-making difficulties with a-type personality features and emotional intelligence level

This research aims to examine the relationship between the A-type personality, the levels of emotional intelligence of high schoolers and their career decision making difficulties and the extent to which A-type personality and emotional intelligence predict in their career decision-making difficulties. Besides, this study aims at examining career decision-making difficulties of high schoolers in terms of age, gender, TEOG score, the class level at school, income status. Personal information form, Career Decision Making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDMDQ), A Type Personality Scale, Schutte Emotional İntelligence Scale were used to collect data. According to results, A type personality and emotional intelligence accounted for a significant proportion of the variance (15 %) of the career decision making difficulties. The results were discussed in relation to the literature and some recommendations were put forward for future research.
