Investigation of career adaptability according to conflict activity styles

Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the conflict activity styles and career adaptability of teacher trainees and whether the conflict activity styles and career adaptability differ according to socio-demographic variables of teacher trainees. The population of the investigation was consisted of the students who continue undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Buca Education Faculty in İzmir. The sample of the study consisted of 483 students in the fields of numerical, equally-weighted, verbal, foreign language and fine arts, according to the undergraduate placement at Dokuz Eylül University Buca Education Faculty. The sample consisted of 319 female (66%) and 164 male (34%) students. Data were collected by Career Futures Scale's Career Adaptability subscale, Conflict Activity Styles Scale and Personal Information Form. The results of the skewness and kurtosis analysis were examined to determine whether the data was normally distributed. It has been determined that the data was normally distributed. Independent Two-Sample T-Test and One-Way ANOVA were used in the analysis of the data. The significance level of .05 was taken as the criterion for the significance of the findings. For correlation analysis, Pearson Correlation technique was used. As a result of the study, a statistically significant relationship was found between the teacher trainees' conflict action styles and career adaptability. There was a statistically significant negative relationship between the avoidant and the compulsive style and career adaptability of the teacher trainees. There was a statistically significant positive relationship was found between the facilitator, the mediator, and the resisting style and career adaptability of the teacher trainees. It was found that the career adaptabilities of the teacher trainees' differed according to gender, the department that the graduate students had educated, the education level of their parents, whether the teacher trainees' choose the department they wanted to study and whether they wanted to work in their field after graduation.
