Evaluation of some potential ecotourism fields in Kastamonu by users of different ages

Presence of ecotourism activities depends on the sustainability of the nature used and the presence of people who will use this nature. It was decided to construct this thesis study in accordance with the hypothesis of the influences of resource attributes in nature could be differ over the varied aged users and this diversity could change the activity which supposed to be performed in that place. In the scope of this study; most preferred varied fields from the several variety of resource fields located in Kastamonu (Natural scenes, lakes, canyons, village beaches, caverns, fountains, Alpine pasture-"yayla"-highland, waterfalls) were chosen and it was determined that which resource - expresses what - for which user by defining the effects on the varied aged users and which activity they prefer to act in these fields. Thus, while these fields brought in to ecotourism, estimations could be done for varied age groups except the general user desires and solution suggestions developments could be obtained in the basis of these estimations for the overall users. As a consequence of this, the interest of every age group could be provided over ecotourism activity and more conscious, nature lover communities could be formed. This study consists of two phases. At the first phase it was intended to reduce these 71 potential ecotourism fields which have diverse resource attributes in Kastamonu to representative 8 fields which are Nature Scenes, Lakes, Canyons, Village Beaches, Caverns, Fountains, Alpine Pastures (yayla) and Waterfalls, with the assistance of a survey questionnaire recorded by a professional group. At the second phase of the study, a different questionnaire recorded with 4 several age groups consisted of 40 respondents to define the impression of predetermined photographs. Results executed that the age criteria has influence over the line of vision to the field, visual attribution, senses built on the people and the activities desired to actualize
