A study on Kara Ölen in Kazakh folk literature

The tradition of saying kara ölen, which was shaped by the Kazakh people who lived as nomads for a long time in a wide geography, has an important place in folk literature. Kara ölens were created by the people in the centuries when the oral literature tradition was dominant. They are poems that the people passed down from mouth to mouth and brought to the era of written literature. The 100-volume Babalar Sözi encyclopedia is a cultural product that brings together the oral literature of the Kazakh people. The study includes the subject of kara ölen, which is the 70th volume of the encyclopedia. First, the kara ölens, whose transcription was done, was then translated into Turkish and its content was examined, and topics related to other genres were discussed. It has been concluded that kara ölens are poems written to educate and entertain the public. Since there are almost no sources about Kazakh kara ölens in Turkish literature, most of them were translated from Kazakh Turkish sources, including general information, and presented to the readers, and the books used are indicated in the bibliography section. The kara ölens were first transferred from Kazakh Turkish to Turkey Turkish, and then transcribed from the Cyrillic alphabet to the Latin alphabet. Then, the study was divided into topics and examined. The study of kara ölens in Kazakh folk literature has an important place in Turkish culture. This study aims to contribute to the Turkology research by introducing the work Babalar Sözi and introducing the Kazakh Kara deceased through the work.
