A study on the reflections of violin techniques in painting art

Within the scope of this study, an attempt was made to establish a connection between the techniques of the violin instrument, the smallest member of the stringed instrument family, and the selected paintings in order to add a different perspective to the integrity of music and painting arts that have been expressed for centuries. First of all, common terms in music and painting were included and the characteristics reflected in music and painting as an art movement were mentioned. Music teaching and notation techniques with graphical schemes, which are widely used today, were examined. At the same time, scientific experiments on the art of painting and music used in ancient times and the music and color correspondences that emerged with these were mentioned. In addition, emerging theories were included in the study. The musical equivalents of the paintings that have previously appeared in the literature were examined and formed a part of the research as they constitute an example. The violin techniques that reveal the difference of the research were explained with the corresponding figures in the tables examined. The shapes, lines and colors in the paintings are associated with violin techniques. In the research, the equivalents of violin techniques in the paintings selected as a result of the literature review were evaluated, and it was concluded that it was important in terms of creating a source, as a subject that has not been researched before.
