Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of the diameters of the aggregates used in the self compacting concrete was investigated. In order to understand the effects of the diameters of the aggregates used on the fresh and hardened properties of the concrete, 5 different concrete series with the same amount of all materials were prepared. In the first series, aggregates with a sieve diameter of 4-22 mm were used. In the second series, aggregates with a sieve diameter of 4-8 mm were used. In the third series, aggregates with a sieve diameter of 8-11 mm were used. In the fourth series, aggregates with a sieve diameter of 11-16 mm were used. In the fifth series, aggregates with a sieve diameter of 16-22 mm were used. This series fresh concrete experiments were done. This the experiments, T50cm slump-flow, Slump-flow, V funnel experiment, L box experiment, U box experiment. As hardened concrete tests 7 and 28-day Pressure Resistance tests were conducted. As a result, the differences of experimental results revealed the effect of aggregate diameter. The segregation problem has been observed in the series where the aggregate diameters are large. Viscosity (resistance to flow) problem has been observed in the series where thin material is excessive. No significant effect has been observed on the properties of hardened concrete.
