Abstract (EN)

Today, various chemical and mineral additives are frequently used in order to improve the various properties of concrete. The use of natural products for the sustainability of these materials has recently become widespread and R&D studies have intensified. Hemp, as a natural material, is used in the construction industry as well as in many areas. The use of hemp products, which are widely used in the insulation sector, in concrete is considered as a subject open to research. Within the scope of the study, the use of hemp products such as fiber, powder and water in cementitious composites was investigated. The fibers obtained from the stem part of the hemp plant were cut in various lengths and added in different volumes into the composite mortar consisting of cement and sand. The powders obtained from the stem and root parts of the hemp plant were substituted with cement and the hemp water obtained during the grazing of the hemp fiber was substituted with the mixing water and used in cementitious composite mortars. In order to determine the physical and mechanical properties on the produced cementitious composites, unit volume weight, pressure and flexural strength tests were carried out as standard mortar tests. As a result of the study, it was concluded that short-cut hemp fibers were more effective, hemp could be used as a filling material rather than a binder, and hemp water had a positive effect on both the workability and mechanical properties of the composites.
