Bus rapid transit systems in urban transport and a new route alternative for Istanbul: Kozyatagi-Seyrantepe metrobus recommendation

In this thesis, the idea of installing a second Metrobus system over the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and on the important Kozyatağı-Seyrantepe axis has been analyzed. An initial passenger capacity forecast of the line is also shared. For the analysis, the population and the number of houses in the corridor, the journeys on the existing bus lines, the possibilities of the transition of the private car users to the system to be installed and the number of journeys that can come from Beylikdüzü-Söğütlüçeşme Metrobus line are taken into consideration. Possible station locations on the route are also defined. Finally, the time savings that the system can present to the passengers are calculated, and the economic and environmental contributions of the system are analyzed.
