Abstract (EN)

Memory, which is the process of remembering and forgetting, is spatial in nature, both individually and collectively. Although the understanding of memory has changed over the ages, all of them have found a spatial response. Urban space is the locus of collective memory. It enables the formation and recall of collective memories. The city, which is a developing, changing and dying entity, has a layered structure with all the memory components it has accumulated throughout its life cycle. In this respect, he resembles a human. As human beings, it passes through some stages and reaches integrity. Just as people experience some traumatic memories and consequently forget them by suppressing them, the city also forgets by losing some elements of the urban space with some traumatic destructions. Just as people experience psychological problems due to their repressed memories, demolitions also create urban problems in the city. However, forgetting in memory is not entirely possible. With psychoanalysis, people can get rid of their psychological problems by remembering the forgotten memories again. The psychoanalyst achieves this by making an in-depth excavation between the layers of consciousness of the human being. The artificial excavation work carried out between the layers of the city also helps the city to confront its traumas by revealing them and helping them to solve its problems. This study, was carried out to document the remnants of the lost memory fragments of the city, living in individual memories, over the city of Konya. The memory profile of the city was drawn and formulated for subsequent urban memory studies, similar to the interactive acquisitions of human beings during their Stages of Psychosocial Development.
