Light curve solutions and physical properties of some ewtype eclipsing binari̇es obtained from the kepler data set

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the light curves of three W UMa (W Ursae Majoris: EW) type eclipsing binaries (KIC9832227, KIC4738426, KIC4936334) are analyzed using the Kepler Catalogue. PHOEBE 0.31a software based on the Wilson–Devinney (W–D) method is used in analyzes and accurate i-q scans were performed for light curves. From the results of light curve modeling, some important parameters such as mass ratios (0.276, 0.73, 0.514), orbital inclinations (54°.68, 12°.80, 16°.50), temperatures of the second component (5880 K, 5656 K and 3990 K for less massive), and surface potentials (2.377, 3.220, 2.830) were accutarely determined for KIC9832227, KIC4738426 and KIC4936334 systems. The absolute parameters were also able to successfully determined as M1 = 1.886Mʘ, M2=0.518Mʘ, R1 = 1.573Rʘ, R2 = 0.885Rʘ for KIC9832227, as M1 = 0.791Mʘ, M2 = 0.576Mʘ, R1 = 0.777Rʘ, R2 = 0.675Rʘ for KIC4738426 and as M1 = 1.444Mʘ, M2 = 0.740576Mʘ, R1 = 1.242Rʘ, R2 = 0.925Rʘ for KIC4936334. The photometric solutions indicate that KIC9832227 and KIC4936334 may be W sub type WUMa contact binary systems with low filling factor of 20.6%, 18.2%, respectively, while KIC4738426 may be classified as A sub type binary system with low filling factor of 23.7%. Moreover, from the temperatures of the systems, it is estimated that KIC9832227, KIC4738426 and KIC4936334 were G1V, G0V, and K7V main-sequence stars, respectively. We think that the results obtained for three different contact binaries in this study can be useful in literature.
