Abstract (EN)
In this study 43 ewes; Çukurova meat type (ÇET) and Awassi breed with 18 and 9 month of age were used. It was carried out to investigate the live weight, the degree of estrus, fertility, lambing rate, fecundity, litter size (prolificacy) and birth weight on genotype and age. The fertility rate in the 18 and 9 month-old ewes in ÇET and Awassi breed type was; 57.69%, 52.94%, 70.83%, 36.84%, lambing rate 57.69%, 52.94%, 79.16%, 26.31%, fecundity 69.23%, 58.82%, 91.66%, 31.57%, and litter size were 120.00%, 111.11%, 115.78%, 120.00%, respectively. Twinning rate was determined as 20.00%, 11.11%, 15.78%, 20.00%, respectively. The differences observed in terms of live weight in experimental ewes were statistically significant in genotype and age (p<0.05). The differences observed in terms of pregnancy rate were statistically insignificant in genotype (p <0.05) and significant in age (p> 0.05). The differences observed in terms of lambing rate were statistically insignificant in genotype (p> 0.05) and significant in age (p <0.05). The differences observed in terms of fertility were statistically insignificant in genotype (p> 0.05) and significant in age (p <0.05). The differences observed in terms of lamb yield were statistically insignificant in genotype and age insignificant (p>0.05). Lamb birth weight in terms of genotype; 3.90 kg in ÇET and 4.53 kg Awassi and 4.61 kg at 18 months and 3.82 kg at 9 months of age. The differences observed in terms of birth weight were statistically insignificant in genotype and age (p> 0.05).
