Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to adapt the Khatena-Torrance creative perception Inventory into Turkish. Target population is normal and gifted (IQ=125, World Health Organization) children, from grade 4 to grade 7, attending schools with normal education. There are a total of 580 participants in the sample, 500 of which are at normal level of intelligence (Nfemale=238, Nmale=262), and 80 are gifted (Nfemale=30, Nmale=50). Khatena- Torrance Creative Perception Inventory was conducted to 500 participants, while 80 gifted students completed the Torrance Creativity Test, Khatena- Torrance Creative Perception Inventory and a personal information form. Khatena- Torrance Creative Perception Inventory has two sub-dimensions called "What Kind Of Person Are You? (WKOPAY)" and "Something About Myself (SAM)". Internal consistency analyses were conducted for both groups (normal and gifted students) to check reliability and statistically significant results were obtained. In order to check construct validity, item total, item remainder and item discrimination analyses were carried out. Reliability analysis of "Something About Myself" and "What Kind Of Person Are You" both revealed high internal consistency (α=,891 and α=,844 respectively). Significant results from Pearson analysis of item total and item remainder correlations (p<,001) were also obtained for both sub-dimensions. Depending on these significant results, it is concluded that the test is valid. In addition, Pearson inter-rater correlation for Torrence Creativity test revealed significance results (p<,001). As a result, it is believed that Turkish version of Khatena- Torrance Creative Perception Inventory can be used through grades 4 to 7.
