Abstract (EN)
In this study, the outlet hydrograph of a prismatic channel section with known inlet hydrograph is tried to be calculated by kinematic wave model which is one of the flood routing methods. The kinematic wave model, which is one of the models derived from the Saint-Venant equations with some assumptions, is solved for the related problem by mathematical modelling of the linear scheme using finite difference approaches and coding with MATLAB program. As a result, the outflow hydrograph was calculated for the considered channel section. The results obtained were compared with the results of literature. The results were found to be compatible. It was found that the kinematic wave model gives suitable results for flood routing studies in prismatic channels.
