Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the rule-based presentation of knowledge, an expert system technique, and artificial intelligence techniques were used in an effort to establish a productive and effective intelligent tutoring system that minimizes learning uncertainties within the developed personalized educational portal. The prepared personalized educational portal offers a learning context that is individualized and adapted to the cognitive knowledge level of individuals. An eight-week practical study was conducted on students attending the department of Software Engineering at the Technology Faculty of Fırat University in order to investigate the effect developed software has on the success and attitude of students. The study was experimental and the experimental pattern used comprised of a pre-test, and post-test control group. 55 students participated in the study; 28 students comprised the experimental group (n=28), and 28 students comprised the control group (n=28). The experimental group conducted their studies using a personalized educational portal, while the control group conducted their studies within conventional learning environments. In the study, an academic success test and the attitude scale were used to gather data. Quantitative data, obtained using data gathering instruments, was analyzed using percentage frequency and t-test for dependent-independent groups with ?SPSS 15 for Windows,? a computer-assisted statistical software program in order to test the hypothesis of this study.According to analysis conducted, there was no significant difference between the success pre-tests of the experimental group and the control group. However, there was a significant difference between the success post-tests conducted on the experimental group and the control group. According to their pre-test and post-test values evaluated using the attitude scale, the experimental group displayed a positive attitude. Both the success test and the attitude scale concluded that when a personalized educational portal is used together with a conventional environment, there are positive effects.
