Effects of the integrated supply chain in TRNC tourism sector on performance of the hospitaliy enterprises

Tourism enterprises in North Cyprus tourism sector operates under very troublesome conditions that are mainly the result of the political isolations. Achieving the goals is more difficult compared to other destinations. On the other hand, establishing strong relationships with their strategic partners provides wealthy of opportunities for attaining sustainable development. With this reasoning, the current situation of the relationships determined in the beginning of the study. Then, a model has been developed that describes the relationships of the accommodation enterprises in North Cyprus tourism sector with suppliers, travel agencies and customers; and determines the effects of these relationships on the performances. The research data collected from the managers who execute the related activities at their businesses. Based on the results of statistical analyses, all hypotheses in the theoretically developed model have been accepted and the validity of the model in the field approved. According to the findings, the relationships of the accommodation enterprises with suppliers, travel agencies and customers increase the performances of all businesses reciprocally. Furthermore, the respondents were asked to reflect their expectations related with the changes in the questioned relationships by considering that the isolations/embargoes had been removed. With this purpose, two different scenarios (which explain the current and the future possible situations separately) have been described and the questions arranged accordingly. The managers expect that the conditions will be better than now, there will be advancements in the mentioned activities and performances after the future probable developments. Establishing sustainable relationships based on mutual commitment with comprehension about the importance of all linkages in the chain will be a success-key for the businesses and the tourism sector.
