Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of online and home exercise programs for functional cores and hips customized to 8-week classical ballet on physical performance in classical ballet high schools. A total of 28 volunteer classical ballet students joined in the study. Participants were divided into two groups: home exercise group (n = 14) and online exercise group (n = 14). Both groups applied the program (8 weeks / 3 days / 45-60 minutes) consisting of functional core and hip exercises developed specifically for ballet. While the online exercise group implements the program online under the guidance of a physiotherapist/exercise specialist; The home exercise group, on the other hand, applied the same program on their own at home, based on a home exercise combination, containing images and explanations sent to them in two-week periods. Before and after the research, trunk and hip strength isokinetic tests, vertical jumps and balance tests are encountered along with anthropometric measurements in bale studies. Paired Simple T' and 'Wilcoxon Signed-rank' tests were used for intra-group pre-post test evaluation and 'Repeat Measures Anova' test was used for statistical analysis of inter-group pre-post test evaluation. After 8 weeks of exercise training, all physical performance parameters of both groups; Statistically significant increases were achieved in trunk (flexion-extension)-hip (flexion-extension, abduction-adduction) strength, vertical jump height, and balance levels (p<0,05). In the majority of tests, the increases in the online exercise group were found to be greater than in the home exercise group, but the difference was not statistically significant (p>0,05). Ballet-specific home and online exercise programs increase physical performance in highly disciplined ballet dancers. Online and home exercise programs for the functional core and hip area customized for ballet dancers can be used by physiotherapists and exercise specialists to increase the physical performance of ballet dancers.
