Abstract (EN)

In this study, Adnan Menderes University-Department of Small Animal Clinic of Veterinary took 56 ocurrences of individuals who had a complaint of lameness with the back of there feet and diagnosed them with fractures of the femur throught clinical and radiological examinations.It was determined that 41 diaphfizer ( %73,21), 11 supraconduler ( %19,64), 2 caput femoris( %3,57), trochanter major fracture ( %1,78) and 1 collum femoris ( %1,78) of %29 which take part of femur fracture in totally 187 fracture cases. It was observed that there is 22 medial area fracture ( %53,65), 9 proximal area fracture ( %24,39) in diaphfizer area fractures.Open reduction and internal fixation were advised to all cases with the aim of examination. The operation was realized by which technique of intramedullary fixation. Also bandages supported with PVC was put into practice in some cases as additional support. Migration was seen in one case and infection was seen the other cases, both of which had complications but healed with the right techniques. Fracture convalescense was actualized without any complications for all cases.As a result, intramedullary fixation which was actualized with right surgical techniques and suitable diameter and size pins were actualized in the examinations of femur fractures with dogs and it was decided that it will bring us good and succesful result.
