Abstract (EN)

The corrosion behavior of reinforcing steel was investigated in chloride solutions, in the presence of acetate ions and structure chemicals. For this aim, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization measurements were utilized. The pH of solution was adjusted to 8.0 and constant temperature (298 °K). It was shown that, CH3COO- ions and structure chemicals could inhibit anodic dissolution of reinforcing steel in aggressive chloride media. The inhibition effect of acetate ions and structure chemicals was resulted from complex formations (between acetate ions, structure chemicals and corrosion products) which physically adsorbed on the surface. The inhibition effects decreased with the chloride ions.
