Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of the parameters (pile spacing, pile surface roughness, the center of the vertical load applied from raft, layered ground conditions etc.) at model pile raft foundations located in the sand have been investigated. In addition, the effects of the parameters including, the slope angle and piled raft foundation's distance from the slope's hill have been inquired in the model tests. As the pile spacing getting larger, the loads acting on the piles have increased. However, for the pile spacing larger than 4D, each pile have behaved like an isolated single pile in piled raft foundations. Also, the investigated other parameters have an important effect on the bearing capacity of piled raft foundation have determined using model tests. After model tests, numerical analyses have been carried out with finite element based software Plaxis 3D Foundation and the results obtained have been compared with the experimental results. The numerical results have been expressed as compatible with model test's results. Some practical design parameters have been suggested for the relevant foundation engineering applications.
