Reflections of root values on secondary school mathematics textbooks

One of the indicators that valueseducation is valuablelately is that textbooksreflectrootvalues.Researchshows that mathematics boks are organized in a way to carryvalues and that it is a source fort his.Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the reflection of the values of secondaryschoolmathematics boks in the program. In line with the research method was used. Document analysis, one of the qualitative data collectiontechniques, who used in the data collection process of this study.In this study, the mathematicstextbooks of the Ministry of National Education between 2018 and 2022 were examined.In the analysis of the rootvalues in the textbooks, descriptive analysis technique and statistical analysis which are among the qualitative data analysis techniques were used. Chi-square test and File's Kappa test were used as statistical analysis. In order to determine the values in the study the rootvalues in the mathematicscurriculumprepared a fromework fort he study. This roofconsist of valuesfriendship, honesty, self-control, respect, petience, love, responsibility, patriotism and benevolent. In the data analysis proces, in the contxt of the frameworkformed by the rootvalues, the items in the boks were dividedintofourpartsasintroductoryinformation, activities and examples. The total number of contantgiven in secondaryschoolmathematics boks was determined as 6037.It was determinedthar the majority of the contants in secondaryschoolmathematics boks were %77.58examples and questions. It was determined that the leastincludedcontent was activitieswit%2.17. It has beenconcluded that the most mentionedvalues in the examinedtextbooks are responsibility, self-control and patriotismwhile the leastmentionedvalues are the root value of patience and honesty. As a result, it has beenreached that the secondaryschoolmathemtics boks between the years 2018-2022 are incomplete in terns of reflecting the rootvalues.
