Use of collage technique in poster design as a language in plastic arts and applications

Collage is an important conjectural element that stands out in the formatting processes in art and design applications. The use of collage technique as a conjectural language in poster design is the main subject of this study. In the first part of the study, the subject of the poster was discussed, and the definitions related to the subject were examined. There is talk about design principles and elements that can be applied for a powerful poster design. In this section, poster types are explained with examples, the development, change and effect of art movements on the communication tool in question are discussed; the section is completed by mentioning the importance of the poster in life. It can be said that the developing technology has a great impact on all communication tools.In this context, the poster was also shaped by the development of technology and many different methods and technologies were used from the past to the present while the poster design was made. When it comes to the second part,these methods and technologies are mentioned,and the design principles and elements briefly mentioned in the first chapter are examined in detail. Conjectural approaches that can be seen in the fields of art and design,such as painting,sculpture,ceramics,fashion, architecture, also play a very active role in graphic design. In this context, in the third chapter,these approaches are addressed within the framework of the development process, supported by computer and manual formatting methods with examples. Currently, its main feature, although it is often made using digital Technologies, the collage technique known as' cut-and-paste " is examined in the manual formatting section of this section. In the fourth section, the examples of banners applied with collage technique are examined and presented. In the fifth chapter,in the light of the studies and the examples studied, there are poster designs performed to re-raise some of William Shakespeare's books, which are considered world classics. These banners, performed by collage methods, are presented by explaining their stages.
