Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of using turbulator in in-pipe flows at heat exchanger on the total heat transfer coefficient and pumping losses have been examined. Turbulanced flows in compact heat exchangers have been designed and executed, flow and heat transfer experiments have been made. Experiment results showed that, compact exchangers are more efficient and have higher heat transfer coefficients compared to non-compact ones. Also, tests have been done on designed exchangers. With data taken from the instruments used in the tests, non-dimensional Reynold and Nusselt numbers have been calculated. Then using these non-dimensional numbers, heat transfer coefficient in exchanger has been calculated. By applying the same method in compact exchanger, heat transfer coefficient in two exchangers have been compared and it has been proved experimentally that, heat transfer coefficient in compact exchanger is higher. Key Words Compact exchanger, flow with turbulence heat transfer coefficient
