Abstract (EN)

Compressors are used many fields of industry and meet pressured air requirements. In consequence of energy consumption surplus on compressors and pressured air high costs, intensive studies are made on energy saving and energy efficiency. To aim of this study is to reach highest level volumetric efficiency and carry volumetric efficiency to more advanced levels. In this study, while calculate volumetric efficiency, two different flow measurement methods were used. The first one is flow rate measure method by flowmeter, the other flow rate measure method is receiver filling time method. Values which obtained after using these two methods were compared and made analysis of volumetric efficiency influencing parameters (pressure, temperature, motor power, motor rotation speed, stroke lenght, piston diameter, number of piston, etc.) . In addition to these, pressured air energy saving scenarios were mentioned which are gain favor for each factories. As a result of both measure by flowmeter and measure by receiver filling time methods, the values were determined very close with each other. Volumetric efficiency is inversely proportional with compressor output pressure but it is directly proportional with compressor power. When compressor oil temperature and air end (air pump) rotation speed are increase, volumetric efficiency is increase.
