Relationship between status of the lodging industry enterprises and web page design criterias analysis and a research in Alanya

The tourism industry is the primary user of the newest technologic advancements at Information Technologies. That is because of the structure of the touristic enterprises needs and its dense communication transfers. At early stages, telephone and fax technologies solved the need of communication for those companies but nowadays internet technologies are preferred. All the printed and visual media presented on the internet and communication tools like social media are the new trend, making internet technologies the perfect platform for tourism enterprises. On this platform web pages are going to be the most important tool to present lodging companies on the internet. Web pages are easily accepted and used by the lodging industry; however, some problems may show up at their design and administration issues. Most of the time they are not built by the information technologies professionals and they are not supervised by managers, as it's a technical issue. Therefore, the lodging industry can not take advantage of all the benefits web pages serve. A touristic web page has many benefits for the company. These benefits must be brought to the attention of both the lodging managers and information technologies professionals. There is very little research on this subject made in our country. Tourism is an important part of Turkey's culture and economy, which makes this a highly important issue. This fast advancing technology need more research to be followed. The main purpose of this research is to create a resource for the touristic enterprises and for the academic literature. At the first stage a sample list of hotels is created. And at the next step an evaluation form is created using the similar researches printed formerly. All hotel web pages are examined using this form and the results show the discussed benefits of the pages of the lodging industry.
