Abstract (EN)

Stress, which is one of the most important problems of today, is a situation that people frequently encounter, both in working life of social life, and can leave deep scars on individuals. Stress is not a notion that emerges today, it is a notion that continues from the past to the present, directly affecting the social relations, job performance, quality of life of the person and should be emphasized. Considering that we are in the age of development and change, it is possible to say that today's people are under more stress than in the past. Stress has negative consequences when critical points are exceeded, on the other hand, experiencing a certain level of stress can also show the positive side of stress. However, it should not be ignored that stress can be seen in different ways and produce different results in every person. In this context, managers in organizations need to have sufficient knowledge about what causes stress on employees, how they react and what are the ways to cope with stress. In this study, it has been tried to determine employees the 4 and 5 stars accommodation business in Kuşadası the factors that cause stress, methods they use to cope with stress and which attitudes they display in case of stress. In addition, it has been tried to put forth whether the factors that cause stress, the strategies of coping with stress and the attitudes in stress situation differ according to demographic characteristics. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the most important factor causing stress on hotel employees is the "workload / career" factor. Employees' most preferred method in the strategies of coping with stress was determined as "believing that you are doing the best you can" in the positivity dimension. The results regarding the attitudes of the employees in the situation of stress, were found to be a reaction factor towards the work. However, it has emerged that the work performance and productivity of the employees are negatively affected. Another result of the study is that there is a significant difference between some demographic characteristics of hotel employees and their stress-inducing factors, their stress coping strategies and their attitudes in stress.
