Abstract (EN)
The Augmented Reality technology integrates the real world with virtual objects to create interactive experiences. The evolution of the internet and technological devices has expanded the usage areas of augmented reality. This technology, used in many fields such as entertainment, education, gaming, marketing, industry, and healthcare, offers innovative and interactive experiences. Augmented reality is classified based on the technologies to be used in its application areas. The location-based augmented reality technology, included in this classification, enables users to interactively experience their surroundings based on their physical location data. Additionally, within the scope of the thesis, detailed explanations of concepts and technologies such as Augmented Reality and Location-Based Augmented Reality have proven effective for understanding the subject. Augmented reality facilitates users in socializing, exploring their environments, and providing guidance by offering information about their locations. In today's world, with the development of location technologies, it has become widespread in various fields such as gaming, marketing, industry, education, tourism, navigation, and military. In created location-based augmented reality applications, user interface design is of great importance for users to have an efficient experience. When designing the user interface for location-based augmented reality applications, it should be simple, functional, and understandable. Additionally, augmented reality interface designs may vary depending on content and location. The aim of this thesis is to examine existing location-based augmented reality technology user interfaces and design an efficient interface tailored to the content. In line with this objective, literature and examples have been reviewed, and a location-based augmented reality application has been created for the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum using the Adobe Aero Geospatial Creator program. The application enriches the museum's architecture and collection with three-dimensional perception and interactive illustrations, enhancing the interaction between users and the museum while providing information about the museum in the virtual and real worlds
