Abstract (EN)
Global problems such as air pollution, environmental pollution, and rapid depletion of resources, together with negativities such as the gradual deterioration of health and comfort conditions, make the concept of sustainability more critical day by day. Due to its impact on ecological, economic and socio-cultural areas, the building sector is one of the most important areas where sustainability principles must be met. Energy efficiency, reduction of carbon emissions and use of renewable energy sources have gained even more importance as problems such as climate change and global warming, have emerged due to the fact that the production and consumption cycle, which has accelerated in parallel whit the increasing population and the development of technology, cannot be managed well. Architects try to produce buildings with high energy performance, considering passive design criteria in building designs. The energy consumption of buildings is very important due to their ratio to the total energy consumed. The situation is the same for the residences, which constitute most of the buildings. In the design of residential buildings, common areas should be considered and the residential parts of the building for an energy-efficient building design. The share of indoor parking lots, which are among the common areas, in the energy consumption of the buildings is very high. Therefore, regulations are needed to ensure the energy efficiency of indoor parking areas. The effect of indoor parking garages, especially in residences, on the energy consumption of the building is an issue that should be emphasized. Therefore, the design of parking lots in residential buildings should be designed in a way that will positively affect the energy performance of the building.
