Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study; it's aimed to examine the effect of finishing processes applied to conventional and recycled fabrics on fabric performance. For this purpose; Polyester fabrics produced with polyethylene terephthalate, a polymer suitable for recycling, were selected. Finishing processes were applied to the fabrics produced as 100% conventional and 100% recycled in different usage areas in accordance with their usage areas. At the end of finishing processes, tear strength test, tensile strength test, Martindale abrasion test, Martindale pilling test, washing shrinkage and fastness tests (light fastness, washing fastness, water fastness, acid-alkali sweat fastness, wet-dry rubbing fastness) were carried out. In addition, internal structure and microscopic analyzes were applied to the fabrics. Thus, the fabrics produced were compared within certain test standards and analysis methods. With the study, it was interpreted according to the test results whether the fabrics of both production methods could be used interchangeably. It has been determined that commercially, fabrics can be used interchangeably under certain conditions.
