Abstract (EN)
84 6.SUMMARY In this study, dogs were anestesied for 2 hours with two inhalation anaesthetics currently used in practice; enflurane and isoflurane, and with drop infusion technique of propofol, a new relatively anestetic for dogs. In this 2 hour period, clinic, hematological, biochemical, cardiovasculler and histopathological findings of dogs were recorded. Respiration number and body temperature as clinical findings, sistolic blood pressure, diastolic pressure, heart beat number and EKG as cardiovasculler findings were measured at 10 minute intervals during anestesia. On the other hand hematological and biochemical findings were examined 5 times; before anesthesia, 30* and 120tn minute during anesthesia, 24 hours following anesthesia and a week after anaesthesia. In the study, a total number of 40 dogs at different breed, sex, age and weight were used. Enflurane and isoflurane groups were divided into 3 subgroups and propofol group was allocated into 2 subgroups. The induction of second subgroup of enflurane and isoflurane with mask, fear, excitement and increase in salivation were frequently observed in dogs. It was frequently coincided with apnea in the induction of intravenous agents (pentothal, propofol) Recovering from anesthesia and standing up periods were shorter in enflurane and isoflurane group than propofol group. Respiration number decreased aproximately 50 % in the first 10 minute in all groups and was between 8-12 towards the end of anesthesia. In propofol group, respiration number and regularity showed great variations. The body temperature tended to decrease during anaesthesia, and on average 4-5 °C decrease were observed. However, the greatest decrease was seen in the propofol group. Among cardiovasculler findings, sistolic blood pressure, diastolic pressure and heart beat number showed prominent decreases in all three groups. The greatest decreases in sistolic pressure and heart beat number were observed in enflurane group, while the greatest decrease in diastolic pressure was in the first subgroup of isoflurane group. In the second groups of isoflurane and enflurane, the decreases in sistolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heart beat number were smaller. In EKG findings, aritmia with short periods were determined in the first and second subgroups of enflurane and isoflurane and the first subgroups of enflurane and isoflurane and the first subgroup of propofol. Among hematological and biochemical findings, statistically significant changes were not seen except for urea, creatinin, glucose and total leucocyte number. The greatest increase in serume glucose level was determined in propofol group which was followed85 by isoflurane group. Meanwhile, the greatest increases in urea and creatinin levels were observed in enflurane group. The greatest increase in total leucocyte number was seen in isoflurane group. In onder to investigate the presence of toxic effects on liver and kidney due to anaesthetic drugs used in this study, the anaesthetic drugs were applied three times in one week. At the end of the third application, the dogs were euthenasied and liver and kidney samples were taken for histopathological examination. In enflurane group, toxic effect was determined, in some degree, in liver and kidneys by histopathology.
