THE EFFECTS OF PROCESS PARAMETERS ON FULL MOLDING APPLICATIONS (M.Sc. Thesis) Derde SOLAK GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FEBRUARY 1991 ABSTRACT Although the usa of full mould process is very wide in the world and it is a new method in our country. In this method, foam pattern whose surfaces were coated with a refractory material, are immersed in silica sand and vibrated. Casting can be obtained by pouring liquid metal into the mould which was ;; made by full mould process; In this study, chromite was used as a coding material which is present in Turkey at large quantities. The factors effecting the coating thickness which are coating period, coating composition and coating permeability were examined. The effect of vibration period on full moulding process was determined. The effect of difrent coating thickness and vibration period on cast aluminium surface quality were examined. Ill
