Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, the synthesis of metal-organic framework (MOF) to enhance corrosion resistance and their incorporation into epoxy resin-based coating systems were examined. Corrosion is a natural process in metals that causes significant economic losses in industries. Therefore, developing effective protective coating systems is essential. The first step of the study involved synthesizing various MOFs containing zinc (Zn) or zirconium (Zr) metals, and examining their chemical structures and thermal stability. In the second step, the synthesized MOFs were integrated into epoxy resin matrices, and the composite coating systems were evaluated for adhesion strength, corrosion resistance, and surface properties against water. The dispersion of MOFs within the coating, and their impact on the structural integrity and corrosion resistance of the coating film, were assessed. This study demonstrates the potential of MOFs for developing corrosion-resistant coating systems and their applicability within epoxy resin matrices.
