Abstract (EN)
In this study, a suitable similarity transformation has been choosen to red we the KdV equation being an important place in non-linear dispersive waves to an ordinary differential equation. After this, in order to solve the ordinary differential equation obtained by the similarity transformation, some suitable conditions have been given. Since the KdV equation under the suitable similarity transformation is transformed to the non-linear equation it is not easy to find its analytical solution. Because of this, the problem has been solved numerically by using the finite difference tecnique. The result obtained have been compared those given by Marehant and Smyth (1991). It is seen that they are close enough to each other. Word keys : KdV equation, finite difference, similarity equation
