Abstract (EN)
In the globalizing world, the ecosystem we live in is changing, developing and digitalizing day by day. This dizzying pace of change is experienced in every field, both in the economic, social and cultural fields, as well as in the use of technology, with the Industry 5.0 revolution, artificial intelligence, metaverse and blockchain applications, and brand new habits are acquired. The difficulties brought by the barter economy that dominated ancient times were replaced by the precious metal standard system over time. When the Lydians, a western Anatolian civilization, started to use money, trade volume increased and the precious metal standard system became effective instead of the barter system. Developments in commercial life with the industrial revolution brought about problems such as transportation and transport of precious metals, and it was observed that this system was replaced by precious papers issued in exchange for precious metals. As a result of the developments in technology, the existence of credit cards emerged in 1968 and the transition to a cashless economy accelerated. As a result of the economic crises experienced around the world in recent years, can the loss of trust in central structures lead to the centralization of the economy being replaced by technology-based virtual structures? It brought the question to mind. Based on this, the concept of "decentralization" has come to the fore in many areas, and finally, this concept has manifested itself in the concept of "money", the language of commercial life. In 2008, an anonymous entity calling itself Satoshi Nakamoto put forward the concept of "Decentralized Cryptocurrency", which is not subject to the management and control of an authority such as the state or central bank, and announced the system it had established with the "blockchain" infrastructure to the entire world market. In this thesis study, crypto money, a new technology product that excites all the countries of the world that can change the current economic balances and system in the world, as well as the fear and anxiety brought about by decentralization, is discussed in the historical process and conceptual framework, and what is its place in the legal order? The answer to the question of whether crypto money is available in Turkey and around the world is researched and the results are given.
