A research on the reasons of migration and changes afterimmigration of people from Kars rural orginated to Istanbul

Migration through the history of mankind have effected development of societies in terms of economic, sociocultural and political aspects. The aim of this study is to examine the reasons of migration, socio-cultural and economic effects of the migration from Kars to Istanbul and to reach some conclusions and recommendations in light of the changing agricultural policies. In this context; The TRA2 region, which is one of the 26 priority regions in the development of our country, within the scope of 2013-2023 ten-year plan of the Ministry of Development, is discussed. The reports and data of the Ministry of Development were examined. The data regarding Kars, which is the biggest province of the TRA2 region and provinces which are separated from Kars were try to reach. In addition, surveys were conducted with migrants. In this study, it has been tried to present a scientific contribution by examining the changes brought by migration from Kars to Istanbul, to the new rural development policies, which are initiated by the Ministry of Development with the Law No. 5449 and with the establishment of Development Agencies.
