Abstract (EN)

As an outcome of the economic developments in Turkey in recent years, international trade, especially the deficit between import and export revenues (trade balance), has become the most important economic problem in nowadays. To reduce the trade balance the state supports manufacturing companies to produce high-tech (high value added) and exportable goods instead of low-tech and domestically consumed products. In this study, the small- and medium- sized manufacturing companies located in İvedik, Ankara are analyzed in terms of their export capabilities and capacities. The necessary information is collected with the questionnaires filled by the managers of the companies. The results obtained in this study are organized to prepare recommendations for the companies to improve their export capabilities and capacities.
