Abstract (EN)

This research aims to explore the geochemistry and mineralogy of gold and silver bearing low sulfidation type quartz vein in the south of Edremit graben in Western Anatolia. Region?s basement composed of metamorphic rocks of Karakaya Complex. Andesitic and dasitic volcanism products shield the basement rocks with unconformity.Low sulfidation epithermal type quartz vein with NE strike is settled in andesitic volkanics. That lens shaped, gold and silver bearing vein system can be followed for 5.4 km. Main gangue minerals of the vein system are quartz, calcite, ankerite, barite, manganite, rodonite, hematite and limonite. Through the vein?s boundry, silisification, argilic and propylitic alteration are observed.Kucukdere Gold Mine is already managed by Koza Altin Isletmeleri A.S. According to compony?s data, total ore resource is 2 475 513 tones, avarage 2.99 g/t Au and 7.74 g/t Ag.
