Abstract (EN)

This study's subject is assessment of the internet as culture industry within the frame of individual liberation and social solidarity. In the study, information society has been evaluated as a whole and it has been focused on both positive and negative sides of the internet and new technologies. Theoretical understanding of the study is supported with economy, politic and cultural studies. In this study which is built with qualitative research design, as an analysis technique, document analysis and semi-configuration in-depth interview has been used. Within the context of document analysis; Twitter, Change.org, Plaza Strike Platform and Metal İş Strikes has been examined in a detailed manner and interpreted. In the second analysis part of the study; semi-configuration in depth-interview have had with 16 research assistant from four different branches in Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences. This interview has been interpreted under the titles of the internet and new technologies as culture industry, internet technologies and indiviual liberation, new technologies and social solidarity in the context of information society and lastly internet technologies and Turkey.
