Abstract (EN)

This study revealed the cultural differences that emerged in the development process with the beginning date of social sciences, which defined the science of anthropology, the youngest science of the 19th century and which is the most important basic principle of anthropology, which is part of human and humanity. This study revealed intercultural interaction by examining the relationship of culture with human beings. This study examine by basing to basic principles of culture the importance of anthropology in everyday life, regeneration style of acumulations of humanity. The discipline of anthropology, which defines human beings culturally and biologically, performs a scientifically intensive study. One of them is numbers for humans. In the history of humanity, some numbers in the religious context have sacred values. One of this numbers is 40. In this thesis study, he explains which has been going on for centuries in Mardin and Şanlıurfa regions, how 40 number has gained importance and why the number of forty is so culturally effective. With the process of human's arrival to earth, before and after birththe period of departure of the soul from the body is connected to the number 40. Therefore anthropology is examining by making an intercultural comparison and the place of numbers in daily life in an ethnographic way. Keywords: Anthropology, Culture, 40 number
