Abstract (EN)

In the present study, thirty tomato genotypes which were selected previously by the pot experiment in early plant development stage for their drought tolerance have been grown under the field conditions to compare them for yield and fruit characteristics. In order to determine field performance of the tomato genotypes three irrigation treatments with different water levels have been realized; 100% (as control), 50% and 25% irrigations. Some physiological, agronomical and pomological parameters have been investigated. These parameters were 0-3 damage scale, leaf membrane injury, stomatal conductivity, leaf water potential, leaf osmotic potential, leaf potassium and calcium concentrations, leaf temperature, shoot fresh weight, pollen production ratio, pollen homogenity, total yield, fruit number, mean fruit weight, mean fruit diameter, mean fruit height, fruit water soluble content, fruit pH, fruit EC, fruit vitamin C, water use efficiency. In 50% and 25% irrigated plants, the above mentioned parameters have been compared versus their control plants. A special evaluation method has been developed by using these comparisons. After the evaluation procedure 30 tomato genotypes have been ranked from the most tolerant one to the least tolerant one.
