Abstract (EN)
The use of nodular cast iron is increasing in industrial applications. In this study the weldability and mechanical properties, of welded nodular cast iron were examined. For this reason, in order to investigate properties variations, different nodular cast iron specimens having different composition were welded. Different preheat temperatures were applied to each specimen. When applying arc-welding technique to the specimens E NiFe-Cl type coated electrodes were used. After welding microstructures of the main material, heat affected zone (HAZ) and filler metal zones were examined by optical microscopy. As a result of welding process, tensile stress properties were improved by applying different preheating temperatures. By increasing the preheat temperatures local variations of hardness values on HAZ were attained. The hardness values on HAZ were observed to decrease while it was observed to increase in filler metal zone.
