Abstract (EN)
Scientific research on climate change points that water resources will be depleting in the area where we live. Water resources projects are designed to serve quite a long time due to the large investment costs and technical difficulties for the capacity increase. Therefore, it is essential to make sound forecasts for future water demand. In this study, monthly water consumptions are modelled based on several socio-economical and meteorolgical variables and a case study conducted for the case of Denizli. The observed data between 2007 and 2010 are used to construct the water demand model. The demand model is then used to estimate the future water use between 2011 and 2100. An exponential extra polation is used to obtain the future population values. Global climate change models are used however for meteorogical variables.Water demand forecasting is carried out for Denizli based on two climatic change scenarios.
