More than being a natural period, globalisation is a formation which was shaped byglobal subject and it has a big deal of advantages as well as having disadvantages. While thefactors, which are, technological improvements spreading too fast, standardisation in productand quality, fast communication, computer and knowledge society trying to be made by this, constitute its positive sides; Transformation of less improved or improving countries to a bigmarket and as a result of this, polarisation in the world in the areas of unemployment andmistrust, getting more wealthy of riches and getting more needy of poors in the worldconstitute the negative sides of globalisation. Globalisation can be benefical or harmfulaccording to director of it and the one having benefit from this situation is usually thepowerful and well being countries. It?s possible to brief the main areas which globalisationeffects the societies most as: economy, culture and politics.Globalisation has caused worldwide big changes in the economic area. Among thesechanges, the most interesting one is the effort for worldwide free commerce and so that tohave a big market. To achieve these goals a lot of free trade organisations have been madeamong different countries and constituted different free trade areas. Although the globalfinance organisations, cunstituted with the globalisation, have important benefits, by the timethey have seperated from their main goals, have become a financial police for third worldcountries and constituted a kind of a colonist system. After the end of Otoman Empire, like before, Turkish economy has gone on dependantto agriculture and commerce most of which is in the hands of nonmuslim minority. In lateryears it has been shaped in accordance with the economic developments in the world and hastried to fall in step to the global changes by a series of reforms.Big changes that came with the globalisation, have naturally effected the nation?spolitics and defence strategies. New technological changes, by the way, have effected thedefence industry and moreover usually defence industry needs have triggered newtechnological developments.
