Perception of the effects of globalization process on vocational and teachnical education field

The aim of this study is to explain effects of the globalization procees on vocational and technical education field. The aim of this study is to realize the teachers', students' and the school principals', who are working at vocational technical high schools having formal education, points of view on the globalization by examining their awareness, competence and the level of being ready to the negative effects of the globalization without forgetting the gender factors among the individuals. The school principals, teachers', and the students', who are working at vocational technical high schools, perceptions of themselves, the perception of the vocational technical education system and the competence of its components, their points of view on the globalization and their future expectation are the dependent variables during the process of the globalisation. The students', teachers', and the school principals' genders and the kind of school they work at are the independent variables of this study. The instrument of data collection during the research is composed of two sections. In the first section, the personal information of the participants, and in the second section, The Questionnaire of the Effects of Globalization Process on the Vocational and Technical Education Field which is developed by benefiting from the information in the literature part of the thesis are used. The personal information section is composed of 2 and the other part is 37 expressions. The questionnaire is applied to 18 schools in Yozgat city centre and in its districts Sorgun and Yerköy by getting samples from Yozgat city centre, and the districts. The questionnaires applied to 33 school principals, 102 teachers and 367 students are evaluated. It is used frequencies, percentages, averages, standard IVdeviations, analysis of realibility and the factor analysis with variance analysis (MANOVA, ANOVA) among the multi- variable analysis. The findings of the research can be summarised such these: 1. It is seen that there are meaningful relations between the vocational and technical education system and the opinions related to the its components in different kind of schools. 2. It is realised that there are not meaningful relations among all the school principals, teachers and students working in vocational and technical high schools in their evaluations of the globalization and the negative effects resulted from the globalization on the social, cultural and technological fields. 3. It is found that there are meaningful relations in their evaluations of the future expectations according to the gender, kind of school and the position in the school of the participants of this research. 4. It is observed that there are meaningful relations in their evaluations of their personal competence and development possibilities according to the gender, kind of schools and the participants' positions in their schools. 5. In addition to these findings, it is realised that there are meaningful relations in the evaluations of the school principals, teachers, and the students of reaching the internet in the vocational and technical high schools.
