Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of anthocyanins in Oleum Ficus Carica L. on pancreatic cancer cells. Material and Methods: Our research was carried out at Adnan Menderes University. The research started with a literature review in September 2020, and the research project materials were completed in March 2021. MTS/PMS, Muse Analyzer and Clonogenic analyzes were performed on the samples obtained by creating experimental groups between March 2021 and June 2021. Results: MTS/PMS experiment was performed to determine IC50 values in Fig Oil, Gemcitabine and Combined (Gem+Fig) groups. In the Muse Analyzer experiment, the annexinV kit was used for apoptotic evaluation in control, gemcitabine, fig, combined (gemcitabine+fig) groups. Viability and apoptosis results in all groups were shown in percentages. Finally, by performing the Clonogenic Experiment, it was observed that the cells in the control group formed colonies, but did not form colonies in the wells (fig oil, gemcitabine, gemcitabine+fig) in which the drug was applied. Conclusion: According to the results of our study, it was concluded that dried fig oil triggered cell death in pancreatic cancer cells. It can be hypothesized that the study may shed light on new research in the future for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, and that fig oil may be a drug/chemical that triggers cell death in the tumor. Keywords: Anthocyanin, Apoptosis, Ficus Carica L, Flavonoid, Pancreatic Cancer Cell.
