Abstract (EN)

Comparing with fossil fuels, wind energy is an alternative solution that helps to solve many environmental problems facing the world today such as the greenhouse effect, atmosphere, soil and water pollution. In this study, wind energy potentials in Simav, Aslanapa, Altıntaş, Dumlupınar, and Gediz boroughs of Kütahya are calculated by utilizing WAsP method. Analysis are performed on the wind speed data belongs to Kütahya boroughs and years between 2016 and 2019. Data is provided by General Directorate of Meteorology. As an outcome of statistical analysis, it is spotted that Aslanapa district has high wind energy potential due to its efficient hills. Annual energy production is calculated by simulating 42 MW wind farm with software WAsP through Vestas V-112 model. Moreover, analytical Gaussian trace of loss model is Jensen model by performing Aslanapa wind farm layout optimization. The results show that Gaussian analytical model has more realistic value for energy production. Jensen model is preferred in designing low power capacity of wind farms which have no space constraints. Another reason for the Jensen model is its simplicity. Created algorithm based on central turbine has produced possible solutions, and this concluded to Enercon E-141 model is the dominant model. As a result of this study, it is determined that Aslanapa is the best district for wind power installation according to other five districts. Additionally, using Enercon E-141 turbine is the best model for establishing 40 MW power plant in Aslanapa.
