Abstract (EN)

Culture is a fundamental element that forms the identity of societies and reinforces the sense of belonging through elements such as language, religious traditions and clothing. However, cultural values and the indicators reflecting these values may experience some losses in the process of transferring them to future generations. These losses cause cultural heritage to face the danger of extinction or damage. Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology, which stands out in the field of digital arts with the development of technology in the century we live in, plays an important role in the protection, promotion and transfer of cultural heritage to future generations. In this context, the adaptation of the motifs in the local clothes of Kütahya to NFT is of great importance for the preservation of this cultural heritage, minimising the losses during its transfer and promoting it. This thesis study consists of two stages. In the first phase, the local clothes of Kütahya, the development and working style of blockchain technology, the detailed process from the creation to the protection of NFTs, and popular examples are included, while in the second phase, the determined motifs in local clothes are reinterpreted and designed and published on NFT platforms. As a result of the study, the positive and negative aspects of NFT technology, its effects on the protection and promotion of cultural artefacts were interpreted and evaluated.
