Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the problems of both producers and consumers and the situation of the sector, as well as to determine the production problems and the demands of the consumers in the Wood Table sector in today's harsh market conditions. For this purpose, based on the opinions of people on the billet table and billet on ANKARA province, the future situation of this sector is emphasized on the issues that consumers and manufacturers consider positive and negative. As a method, the questionnaire method applied by face to face interview was chosen. 13 different producers were surveyed in producers, and 100 different people were surveyed in consumers. Different demographic features such as ages, marital status, education levels of the Manufacturers and Consumers are discussed. In addition, while all these surveys were conducted, the production environments of the producers were observed. As a result of the surveys, the biggest problems of the producers were determined as the lack of qualified personnel and the difficulty of drying the wood material. When looking at the age groups of the producers, it is determined that the vast majority are 51 years old and above. In addition, it has been determined that the producers procure the raw materials only from intermediary people and they cannot obtain raw materials for the billet table from the General Directorate of Forestry. The main reason for this is that the General Directorate of Forestry does not have such a classification. When the consumer surveys are examined, the most important criterion in furniture purchases is determined as the price. In addition, it has been observed that preferences change according to age groups. While young age groups gave more importance to appearance, middle age group gave more importance to price. In addition, it has been determined that young age groups have started to use the internet in furniture purchases in today's conditions, where internet sales are increasing day by day. Finally, as a result of the surveys, 81% of consumers liked billet tables and coffee tables, but 88% did not buy.
